Nonionic UCST–LCST Diblock Copolymers with Tunable Thermoresponsiveness Synthesized via PhotoRAFT Polymerization

نویسندگان

چکیده

Nonionic double thermoresponsive diblock copolymers with both upper critical solution temperature (UCST) and lower (LCST) phase transitions are synthesized via eco-friendly photoiniferter reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. While the biocompatible random copolymer of di(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate oligo(ethylene accounts for LCST transition, block polymethacrylamide from an easily accessible monomer low health hazard is responsible UCST transition. Temperature-dependent dynamic light scattering measurements confirm formation micellar aggregates in water at temperatures below UCST- above LCST-type cloud points. Additionally, interval between LCST, where blocks dissolved, can be tailored by varying comonomer ratio block. With these unique advantages, presented work introduces a new polymer system design schizophrenic polymers.

Fabrication of honeycomb-patterned porous films from PS-b-PNIPAM amphiphilic diblock copolymers synthesized via RITP.

Poly(styrene)-b-poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) (PS-b-PNIPAM) amphiphilic diblock copolymers were synthesized via reverse iodine transfer polymerization (RITP) firstly. And then the honeycomb structured porous films were fabricated by drop the amphiphilic diblock copolymer solutions on glass substrates. The porous films were characterized using field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) an...

Carbon nanotubes with small and tunable diameters from poly(ferrocenylsilane)-block-polysiloxane diblock copolymers.

Iron-containing nanostructures produced from various self-assembled poly(ferrocenylsilane)-block-polysiloxane thin films are catalytically active for the initiation and growth of high density, small diameter carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Moreover, the tube diameter and density can be tuned by adjusting the chain lengths of the block copolymer. Iron-containing nanostructures from poly(ferrocenylmethy...

Well-defined PE-b-PTFE diblock copolymers via combination of coordination chain transfer polymerization and condensation reaction: Facile preparation and surface modification of polyethylene film

In this paper, a series of well-defined polyethylene-b-polytetrafluoroethylene diblock copolymers (PE–b– PTFEs) were prepared by a coupling reaction of hydroxyl-terminated polyethylene (PE–OH) and isocyanateterminated 1H,1H-perfluoro-1-tetradecanol (PFDO–NCO). PE–OH was prepared by the coordination chain transfer polymerization using 2,6-bis[1-(2,6-diisopropylphenyl)imino ethyl] pyridine iron (...

One-Pot Synthesis of Charged Amphiphilic Diblock and Triblock Copolymers Via High-Throughput Cu(0)-Mediated Polymerization

Block copolymers containing functionalized monomers, for example those containing charged groups, can be used for many purposes, one of which is the design of polymeric supramolecular materials based on electrostatic interactions. In this paper the synthesis of diblock copolymers and ABA-triblock copolymers containing poly(n-butyl acrylate) as a first or middle block and poly(2-(dimethylamino)e...
